Graversen for developing automatic scoring system. Our big thanks goes to: EP for website design. For scoring questions and other communication, contact us at competition e-mail address: Credits Communication between contest organizers and contestants will be an e-mail. You can upload your IGC after finishing the task here Click here to upload. In case of your internet disconnect you have option to finish the task offline. Task can be repeated all week as many times as you wish. Outland in task - points for distance, crash and status "Racing" will be scored with zero points. Cloud flying will be penalized with 60 penalty points per minute. Results of racing days and also overall score will be posted on this website next day after race week. Overall result is count of best 7 results from total 12 flights (best of 50% results). The contest will be flown in the following classes: Club, 15-Meter, 18-Meter, Standard, Open. We will used these Condor sceneries: Landscapes will be informed at a later point in time when new landscapes are being released. The competition starts on October 4, 2021, last competition day is 12 weeks after.

Any modification of the application or any of the aircraft is forbidden and will be penalized by disqualification from the competition. The result is amazingly real feel of flight in all flight regimes and weather conditions which challenges a real soaring pilot on a competition day.Īmazing feel of flight due to the advanced flight dynamics model: Advanced 6DOF flight model for complete freedom of flying / Accurate sailplane performance and handling – also at and beyond critical angles of attack / Sailplane damage simulation – flutter, high G stress, collisions / High time fidelity physics engine (up to 500 cycles per second) / Accurate ground forces for realistic takeoffs, landings and crashes / Detailed, sub-object collision detection for mid air and ground object collisions / Accurate conditions for a realistic towing and winch start.Įvery pilot has to own legal copy of Condor (version 2). This means that the aerodynamics and weather physics were in focus of the development. A lot of attention was put in to create an environment which would create an immersion of real competition flying.
#CONDOR 2 SCENERY SIMULATOR#
When you put in 27 knots, the max, that is about 20 knots at ridge top, which is really only a "moderate" ridge day.Condor: The Competition Soaring Simulator is designed to recreate the ultimate experience of competition soaring on your PC. The wind you dial into the sim is the wind at 1000m AGL, NOT at ridge-top. Unfortunately, you'll just have to crank up the wind and fly it that way.Īctually it simulates it better than you think. It has to do with the resolution of the terrain and the angle that Condor sees the ridge meeting the wind. Condor doesn't simulate ridge lift very well and unfortunately, that's something I can't change. I am not sure about actually changing the scenery.Ĥ. I would make a map of the names and circles and such, for sure. While I'd keep one version clean and just with the aerial photos, making a second version with those markings on it is a cinch.

For example, I could paint the name of a ridge on the side of it, put arrows or circle good landing fields, etc. But, I can edit that photo and add ANYTHING. Is there a need for a 'learning' landscape? The texture that goes on the surface of the scenery is an aerial photo. I could provide some of the Blaristown turnpoints too if you would like, at the risk of cluttering up the scenery more.ģ. The Mifflin and MASA turnpoints would suffice. What waypoints? I've included the Mifflin points but as you go further south, there's still plenty of room for more points to the south.

Just the act of compiling the graphic files can easily take an entire day.

I would also add in one or two on the "plateau" to the NW of ridge soaring for thermal tasks.īlair County, Selinsgrove and Williamsport would be nice too, but they are secondary.Ģ. In case anyone mistakenly thinks that a Condor scenery developer can simply download aerial photographs, press a button, and compile such scenery for inclusion into Condor's landscape folder, they have a lot to learn. If it fits, I would add in Petersburg too. For example, soaring over the nation's capital might be fun since you'll never get to actually do it.Īlong those lines, I would add Schulykill-Zerby Airport, Grimes, Potomac Airpark, Front Royal, Cumberland. I'll put certain airports around the map just because you may want to start in different sections of the map. What are the 'must have' airports for this scenery? For soaring, I have just a couple so far - Mifflin County, Eagle field, Ridge soaring, Mid Atlantic Soaring Center. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! This is fantastic!ġ.
